Eaton House The Manor Girls' School is an outstanding independent school and nursery, set opposite the leafy green stretches of Clapham Common. The school offers a balanced, highly academic education to girls between the ages of 4 and 11 and is non-selective at its reception entry point. The co-educational nursery takes children between the ages of 2 and 4. A philosophy of 'sky-is-the-limit learning' allows each girl to reach her fullest potential, supported by specialist subject teaching and excellent pastoral care.

Consequently, pupils leave for a range of top secondary schools, including St Paul's Girls' School, the Godolphin & Latymer School, JAGS, Alleyn's, St Mary's Ascot, Downe House and Wycombe Abbey.

Academic exploration and risk-taking are two essential ingredients in Eaton House The Manor Girls' School teaching. The girls thrive in a relaxed but highly stimulating classroom environment that promotes intellectual curiosity. Beyond an excellent core curriculum of literacy and numeracy, an equal emphasis is given to the arts and STEM subjects. Each girl is also encouraged to pursue her interests through an increasingly co-curricular attitude to learning and a sophisticated range of extracurricular activities. The school's well-rounded curriculum is reflected in the diversity of the outstanding 41 Scholarships and Awards across Academics, Sport, Drama, Music and Art in 2022 and 2023.

Pupils benefit from an exceptional wellbeing network. Form tutors provide ongoing support for each girl in their care, getting to know them on an individual level, whilst new pupils are helped to settle in by their individual 'big sisters', a role that the older girls take great pride in playing. 'The focus is on girls feeling they are 'known' and nurtured in the school. This approach is anchored by the morning ritual of the head and deputy shaking the hand of each girl as they come into school.' (The Good Schools Guide, 2023).

Eaton House The Manor Girls' School is located on the same extensive 1.5 acre site as Eaton House The Manor Boys' School, making it the ideal place for siblings to enjoy the benefits of a single-sex education on one site.

In their 2022 report, the Independent Schools Inspectorate found both Eaton House The Manor Boys' School and Eaton House The Manor Girls' School to be 'excellent' in all areas, which include 'the quality of pupils' academic and other achievements', 'diversity and inclusion', and 'the quality of pupils' personal development'.

Headmistress, Mrs Claire Fildes, says, "I want the girls to achieve their full academic potential whilst allowing them the space to become confident and kind, ready to take the next steps on their journey as strong, impressive and independent-minded young women."

Entrance procedure

Nursery and Reception: Entrance to our nursery and reception is non-selective. Registration is accepted from birth and early application is advised. We welcome girls to our co-ed nursery in the September following their second birthday. The majority of our nursery pupils go on to attend reception, where they are joined by those who register for 4+ entry.

Years 1 to 6: Children registered to join Eaton House The Manor Girls' School after the initial reception entry point will be invited to visit the school for an admissions assessment before a place can be offered (subject to availability). Prospective pupils are asked to complete a formal 8+ assessment for external entry into Year 4.
