"Since my children started at Fairstead House, it has been wonderful to see how much the school prioritises not just their academic achievements, but also their personal and emotional development. A truly wonderful place for children to learn and grow."

A member of the King's Ely Family of Schools, Fairstead House is located in the heart of the horseracing town of Newmarket on the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border.

We are an excellent choice for families who are looking for an independent Nursery and School in a rural setting but with the rich cultural resources of Cambridge, Ely, and Bury St Edmunds a short distance away.

Fairstead House will provide your child with a unique introduction into the world of learning and discovery. We are extremely proud of our high academic standards, our superb pastoral care, and the happy and enriching environment that we provide for our pupils.

Physical Education plays a very important part in the life of our school. Children are encouraged to achieve their full potential, to understand what is involved in being part of a team, and to learn the values of good sportsmanship.

Residential trips and outings contribute to the broad, balanced and creative education that Fairstead House provides.

Music and Drama are also a great strength and play an integral part in school life, under the direction of a specialist teacher. All children are given opportunities to sing, perform, compose and play a selection of instruments. Specialist private tuition is available in a wide range of instruments.

A whole host of clubs and activities are available. These include sports, art, music, crafts, drama, languages, storytelling, and many more. Children have the opportunity to choose their activities at the beginning of each term. A Breakfast Club is available each day from 7.30am and we have a well-established and popular After-School Care Club until 6pm.
