Situated close to the village, Hall School Wimbledon is the only co-educational, all-through school (5-18) in Wimbledon which thrives on its inclusive and independent nature.

Pastoral care is paramount, with its small class sizes, caring staff and a commitment to co-education coming together to draw a circle of care around each child, where every pupil is known, valued and able to develop his or her own talents. This has been central to the school’s ethos since it was founded and was recognised in its recent Ofsted inspection (February 2019), which highlighted “Outstanding provision in the early years” and “Extensive enrichment opportunities for pupils of all ages contribute well to the school’s strong provision for their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.”

Hall School Wimbledon provides a happy and nurturing environment where children study a broad and exciting curriculum. Through this programme of study, enhanced by an extensive range of extra-curricular activities, HSW aims to instil an enthusiasm and joy for learning at every level, as children progress through the school. For example, great emphasis is placed on practical learning and problem solving, encouraging inquisitiveness and an ability to think for oneself.

The school works within a culture of praise and encouragement, rewarding good behaviour, kindness and consideration for others. It believes that cultivating characteristics of resilience, adaptability, confidence, good humour, collaboration and empathy are important to its pupils’ long-term success.

Well Being Hub

The school has a Well Being Hub which offers a sanctuary away from life’s pressures which anyone can access - children, staff or parents. It recognises that it has a pivotal role in supporting its pupils to make healthy lifestyle choices and to understand the benefits of lifelong health and wellbeing. Simple steps shared with the pupils can promote mental, emotional and physical resilience. The Wellbeing Hub is stocked with up to date guidance and books on a wide range of topics and is open at break times and lunchtimes and is also made available, when needed, throughout the day. The safe and brightly furnished space is visited by Doug the dog, who is a much valued member of staff at Hall School Wimbledon

School’s playing fields

In addition to its well-resourced school buildings, HSW is greatly enhanced by its Oberon Fields site which affords nine acres of playing fields and an Edwardian pavilion. Less than a mile away, it has been re-developed to become a hub for curriculum enrichment, with outdoor learning spaces, performing arts and cookery facilities, tennis court, netball courts, nature trail, orchard, garden allotments and a Forest School area.

Sixth Form

In September 2022, HSW will launch its brand new Sixth Form, delivering its vision of becoming Wimbledon’s only non-selective, co-educational all through 5-18 school. The Sixth Form will embrace the school's philosophy of small classes and personalised learning, alongside outstanding teaching and pastoral care.
