"Welcoming and nurturing;" "stimulating and creative;" These are just some of the words used by parents to describe Headington Preparatory School.

Here we focus on the building blocks to success from Nursery through to the end of Year 6. With automatic entry to the Senior School just across the road for Year 7 onwards, a world of opportunity awaits and it all begins at our Prep School.

Not only do we offer a broad curriculum and specialist teaching in a variety of subjects, we make it our business to encourage a love of learning that will stay with your daughter throughout her educational journey and onwards into the wider world.

With a parent population of medics, academics, and business professionals, we fully understand the juggling act of working parents. From 7.45 am your daughter can join our popular morning care, and our dedicated after school team provide tea and a range of activities for girls from 3.30 pm, on top of the extra-curricular provision available, until 6.00 pm. We also have extensive transport options too, from our own minibuses, to the Oxford Schools Bus Partnership, which offers routes from all over the county and beyond.

For a city school, we have significant outdoor space and we celebrate outdoor learning to the fullest. Skills are learned both inside and outside the traditional classroom. With over 70 clubs to choose from the dilemma is what to pick! Whether it is Street Dance, Coding, French Club, Chess, Speech & Drama, Fencing, Mini Soul Train or Debating, there really is something for everyone.

It's not just about learning facts and figures or indeed trying things for the first time - here we help your daughter develop resilience, curiosity, flexibility, risk-taking and self-motivation. Every girl has a chance to thrive and shine whatever their skills and interests.
