L’Ecole de Battersea opened in 2005 following on from the success of its sister school, L’Ecole des Petits.

The school is unique in that it offers a continuous bilingual education from age three through until age eleven at the end of primary, where both the French and English educational systems operate together. The teaching emphasis throughout the school is fundamentally based on the French system, into which aspects of the English curriculum and methodology are integrated.

The highly motivated bilingual team of teachers are qualified in both the English and French educational systems.

This bilingual facility enables children and parents to choose to progress on to either the English private school system or on to the French Lycée system, and is also ideal for the increasingly popular International Baccalaureate.

The school welcomes bilingual pupils from a range of cultures, and so aims to generate a truly international atmosphere.

Partnership with the family is paramount in the school’s ethos, and the school successfully seeks to develop confident and balanced children with experience of a wide range of activities, an appreciation of artistic and cultural heritage and a thoughtful and considerate attitude towards others.

Class sizes are small and the school occupies a recently refurbished building with top quality facilities, and with good outside spaces for a Central London school. The school is only five minutes drive from Chelsea and operates a twice daily school bus service between South Kensington and Battersea,as well as a link to its sister school in Fulham, ten minutes distance.

The school is inspected by both the French Inspectorate and Ofsted and achieves excellent academic results. Ofsted 2015 report said the school was "Outstanding in all categories" and it has been selected as one of the top 225 private schools in the country in The Tatler Education Guides 2009–2015.
