Long Close is Slough's only non-selective, co-educational school providing an outstanding education for children from ages 2-16 years.

We believe that every child has the potential to succeed. Our robust intervention strategy is implemented at every Key Stage to ensure that all pupils are treated as individuals and receive the right support they need both academically and from a wellbeing perspective.

Our pupils enjoy accelerated progress through the Early Years and continue to achieve outstanding academic results through all Key Stages. In 2020, 86% of our pupils achieved Grade 6 and above in all GCSE papers. One of our Year 6 cohort received an offer to join Eton College’s 2022 cohort.

Our School Nursery introduces children to learning from the age of 2. The Read Write Inc. Phonics programme is introduced from the age of 3 and we have achieved Model School status because we are committed to developing excellent literacy skills in all our children.

Our Prep school embeds the 11+ curriculum from Year 1 and children also benefit from additional support classes as they near the 11+ examination. Many of our pupils enjoy pathways into local top-performing Grammar Schools.

Teachers in our Senior School are specialists in their subjects and teach to an excellent standard. Children have an opportunity to pursue sporting interests, musical ambitions and creative subjects, alongside a GCSE curriculum of length and breadth.

In addition to outstanding academic success, Long Close children relish our enrichment curriculum which inspires and provides them with an opportunity to develop confidence and skills from non-curricular activity. In addition to our comprehensive enrichment curriculum in Prep and Senior School, our Early Years’ children enjoy Forest School from age 2 and Spanish, dance and sport from specialist teacher at age 3.
