Llandovery College is celebrating another set of excellent A level results with an impressive increase in the number of boys and girls achieving A*–A grades.

The College is delighted to announce that an outstanding 37% of grades were A*–A, signifying that over a third of the College’s Year 13 pupils achieved the highest success in their examinations. This result – along with the 12% of grades being A* and the notable achievement of 58% of pupils achieving A*–B grades – was enthusiastically welcomed by both pupils and parents.

The College is celebrating its 170-year anniversary and these exceptional results are a fitting tribute to the College’s founder, Thomas Phillips, and its longstanding reputation as one of Wales’s most respected independent schools.

The Llandovery College Warden, Guy Ayling, congratulated all pupils and said: ‘We are delighted with these results, especially the huge improvement in A* and A grade achievement, and we are very proud of staff and our pupils who now move on to some of the best universities in the UK.’
