Belmont Mill Hill Preparatory School is situated in the Green Belt on the borders of Hertfordshire and Middlesex, just ten miles from Central London. A part of the Mill Hill School Foundation which is set in 160 acres of beautiful grounds, Belmont stands in about 35 acres of its own woods and we take advantage of the truly rural environment by extending our learning to our own nature reserve and our Eco Garden. We provide a happy, secure and rich learning environment for boys and girls aged 7 to 13, the majority of whom move on at the end of Year 8 to the senior school, Mill Hill, which educates boys and girls from age 13 to 18.

The school takes pride in being a happy and caring community where academic attainment, supportive pastoral care and a wide variety of activities combine to offer an excellent education for boys and girls. We aim to develop the interests and talents of each child so that he or she feels wanted and valued and so achieve the best academic standard of which they are capable. In harmony with parents, we actively encourage an atmosphere of care and support.

At Belmont we have created a rigorous and diverse curriculum that goes well beyond the National Curriculum and gives your child the chance to excel in many areas. Our curriculum runs seamlessly through every school in the Foundation, and is designed to prepare your child for life in the 21st century. It teaches children to think creatively and critically, and builds flexible skills for a fast-changing world of new technologies. Our teachers are highly skilled, motivated and love their work. We use both traditional teaching and learning methods, and innovative approaches using IT, inquiry based projects and peer-to-peer learning.

The school has its own secure play areas and adventure playground and we regularly make use of the further facilities on offer at Mill Hill School, including sports fields, Five Courts, swimming pool and theatre.

The usual age of entry is at 7+ or 11+ but 8+, 9+ and 10 + entry is considered as vacancies occur.

Charitable status. The Mill Hill School Foundation is a Registered Charity, number 1064758. It exists to provide education for boys and girls.
