Cranford House offers a vibrant education to girls aged 3-16 and boys aged 3-11. Our new Sixth Form will open in September 2020, marking the same date that we will start to welcome boys to Year 7 and Year 12. Rated 'Excellent' in all categories, our school specialises in academic achievement, outstanding pastoral care and extra-curricular opportunities for all.

We have an excellent reputation for providing pupils with a balanced, all-round education within a warmly nurturing environment. At Cranford House, places are not offered due to academic ability alone. Our school is a place where children with a whole host of interests both inside and beyond the classroom thrive. We aim to provide a well-rounded, opportunity-rich education to children ready and willing to make the most of it. Set in over 14 acres of rural South Oxfordshire, our aim is to encourage pupils to achieve their full potential, becoming motivated, confident and happy individuals, recognising the importance of respect and support for others, but ready to seize life's opportunities. Our newly refurbished and extended Junior School balances traditional academic skills with the enquiry-based approach of Science, Design Technology and Computing. Juniors also benefit from Senior School facilities. Lesson content is based on the National Curriculum but is supplemented to ensure pupils develop their own collaborative, reflective and reasoning skills and abilities. Our results are consistently very good. Responsibility is offered at a young age through a host of leadership posts. In our Senior School, pupils follow a common core curriculum, before choosing their GCSE subjects. With the new GCSE curriculum and assessment model now in place across the majority of subjects, the school Is particularly delighted to see a huge 85% of all grades were awarded between 9 and 6, the equivalent of Grades A**–B. Particular cause for celebration came as 65% of pupils’ grades were awarded at Grades 9–7, the equivalent of A**–A, marking a substantial 15% year-on-year increase in attainment at the very highest levels. This is a particularly impressive feat for a non-selective school.

Our pupils belong to a House system and, on reaching Year 11, enjoy further positions of responsibility and privilege. We are delighted that we will be opening our own on-site Sixth Form in 2020, complete with bespoke Sixth Form building, lab and study rooms. The school has extensive games fields, a new Sports Hall, a swimming pool and an all-season astroturf. Dramatic, musical and dance productions are an important aspect of school life and our emphasis is very much on both inclusivity and the celebration of excellence. Our superb extra-curricular provision delivers a wealth of enriching opportunities to students right across the school and pupils have the opportunity to join educational trips, expeditions and excursions. Our own School Minibus service operates over a wide area. Scholarships and Bursaries are offered for Year 7 entry to the Senior School – please see our website for more details.
