Liverpool College is a unique academy, so visitors tell us. They profess that there is a "buzz", a sense of purpose, and a distinctive ethos about the place. We agree.

The College, a state funded academy, educates approximately 1700 pupils aged 4-19 on a 28 acre campus in South Liverpool. In 1840, Liverpool College was founded on a commitment to educate the whole person. Although we made this pledge over 180 years ago, it has never been more relevant than today. Our intent is to empower the young people of Liverpool and beyond to fulfil their dreams and serve their community by delivering a transformational and exceptional education.

Our school motto, "Non solum ingenii verum etiam virtutis", "Not only the intellect but also character," taken from Cicero, reflects the College's constant aim to educate the whole person. We are A School of Character, explicitly and deliberately inspiring and teaching young people to develop our three core Lerpoolian traits: Purpose, Passion, Challenge.

There are many opportunities for extracurricular activities at Liverpool College including our Combined Cadet Force, Brilliant music department with our 'locally renowned' musicals to a multitude of sports teams.

Boarding

Our affordable boarding house, Beechlands, is a beautiful Victorian property that has been completely refurbished and modernized. The boarding house is located on the school’s secure and leafy campus. It provides comfortable accommodation for up to 20 boarders, as well as a variety of communal spaces where students can relax, study, and socialize.

Our boarding programme is designed to provide students with the support and opportunities they need to succeed academically, personally, and socially. We have a dedicated team of boarding staff who are committed to providing our boarders with a safe and supportive home away from home.

Our core value as a house is that 'We learn by living together'.
