Maple Walk is a small, independent prep school in North West London.
Maple Walk School is committed to giving every child a first-class education in the arts and sciences, drawing as a resource upon the Core Knowledge approach, which imparts knowledge through traditional academic subjects.
Although we believe in a traditional approach, our lessons reflect modern thinking on how children learn most effectively and our small classes and quality staff allow for a very personal approach to learning.
We feel literacy and numeracy are important, however, our curriculum is broad and stimulating, including specialist teaching in French, Music, Drama, Dance and Physical Education. Our aim is to educate the whole child through a rich curriculum with many stimuli, in order to support an atmosphere of life-long learning.
Our sports teams compete in a range of competitions and have seen growing success, particularly at Cross Country, Football and Gymnastics. We also provide a wide range of after school clubs and care.
Maple Walk was founded in 2004 and we maintain strong links with our sister school, Faraday School, in East London. We are easily accessible by road and public transport and make use of the local facilities, including the Green-Flag awarded Roundwood Park for PE and Willesden Sports Centre for swimming lessons. We take full advantage of the extensive cultural opportunities London has to offer, with termly trips to a wide range of museums, galleries, theatres and places of scientific, historical and religious interest.
Our March 2012 ISI Inspection found that “the personal development of pupils is excellent".
In 2016 Maple Walk was named in The Telegraph newspaper as one of the Top 10 Best Value Prep Schools.
