Opening in September 2020, North Bridge House Nursery and Pre-Prep West Hampstead will join the existing group of happy, high-achieving, co-educational schools in the North Bridge House group and extend on the school’s existing Early Years and Key Stage 1 expertise.
As with our longstanding, well-established Nursery and Pre-Prep Schools, our West Hampstead Nursery and Pre-Prep will be known for its warm, nurturing environment in which pupils develop the confidence and lifelong learning skills upon which their future successes are built. We believe that happiness and a secure sense of well-being are the key to successful learning, particularly in these formative years of education, and are committed to providing our pupils with an engaging learning experience and a curiosity for knowledge, leading to excellent academic outcomes.
Our pupils achieve well beyond national expectations - having become confident mathematicians and able to read and write their own stories at just 5-years-old - and are well prepared for the next stage of their education at North Bridge House Prep.
We offer a broad and exciting curriculum, providing children with a fully rounded education and allowing them to develop a genuine love of learning, with flexi sessions for our youngest Nursery children to provide them with a sensitive transition into school life. Pupils thrive on a range of extra-curricular activities, which vary from sport and LAMDA lessons during the school day to a whole host of after school clubs and day trips, which make the most of the fantastic on-site facilities and central London attractions on our doorstep.
Our new West Hampstead campus will adopt the holistic, child centric approach to pupils’ learning, with calm zones for reading (all pupils benefit from one-to-one reading three to four times a week), and its very own ‘Cluckingham’ Palace complete with bantam chickens, ready to be named by the pupils. Our fully landscaped play space is the perfect escape from the classroom with a multi-level play area and climbing wall sections. Children will also be able to get closer to nature with our wildflower beds, fruit and veg planters, and wall boxes. Everything will be accessible to the children and with a lot of care and attention they should be able to enjoy their produce. The school will also run the same weekly outdoor experience trips to Cuffley Camp as the existing Nursery and Pre-Prep, where pupils are immersed in mud, nature and new activities which focus on developing resilience, teamwork, self-confidence and communication skills.
We very much look forward to welcoming you and your children to one of our open events, where you can experience our warm and caring community for yourselves.
