"The most vibrant, exciting, brilliant place for girls to learn and to excel." Julie Keller, Head

Empowering girls for extraordinary lives, we provide the progressive, creative and different style of education that girls need to excel in the 21st century.

Giving girls an exceptional start in life, Nottingham Girls’ High School is a school with a difference. We encourage girls to be the best they can be, accomplishing anything they put their minds to. We aim to smash stereotypes in a stimulating environment where girls achieve both academically and socially. Combining collaborative and challenging lessons with the best pastoral care, our students thrive on learning.

Rated Excellent by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and with a recent glowing review from the Good Schools Guide, NGHS is developing the next generation of female leaders.

"They know the young female mind inside out and backwards and this is reflected in the way these girls are taught." Good Schools Guide 2022

Students at Nottingham Girls' High School enjoy a wide range of subjects alongside extensive extra curricular activities including sport, games, performing arts, design and creativity, bushcraft, social and personal development. Nothing is off limits to our students - we encourage them to express themselves, challenge each other and develop a sense of adventure. With our experience dating back nearly 150 years, we know girls flourish and perform better in an all-girls environment where they are free to develop their confidence and find their voice.

Our facilities are second to none, with fully equipped classrooms, the latest technology and state of the art sports and performing arts facilities. We invest in our school to provide an environment where girls learn, progress and succeed.

Our school also benefits from being part of the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST), one of the largest charitable organisations in the UK. With a network of 25 schools plus an extensive network of alumnae, we are continually inspiring our students to become the best version of themselves and go on to make a difference in the world.
