Spring Grove is a happy, family school for boys and girls aged 2-11 set in 14 acres of beautiful Kent countryside. The school is located in Wye, between Ashford and Canterbury, and close to the high-speed train link into London St Pancras. As an independent Prep school it offers a first-class education, preparing children for both grammar and senior independent school entry and scholarships.
Spring Grove offers a wide range of subjects and extra-curricular activities. Our children are happy and confident, and the school is renowned for its friendly, family atmosphere. Spring Grove Nursery, which caters for children from the age of 2 to 4, is on the same site as the Prep school, and while it is a safe and separate space, the preschool children benefit from sharing staff and facilities with the older children in the school. The Nursery also has its own beautiful walled garden where the children play all year round.
Spring Grove's Home Learning website allows a full timetable to be delivered online through a child-friendly and interactive platform if the need arises. Every child from Reception class upwards has a school Chromebook and some lessons in school are taught via Google Classroom, allowing a seamless transition from in-school to Home Learning when necessary.
Outdoor learning is integral to the Spring Grove curriculum, and all children from Reception upwards regularly visit the school’s award-winning Forest School, situated on a permanent site near Wye. The school also has an active pupil-led Eco Committee, and in 2020 Spring Grove became an Eco Council Green Flag school. The creative and performing arts are also an important part of everyday life for all Spring Grove children with specialist music, dance and art teachers and ensembles including an orchestra, choir and folk band. This year Spring Grove hopes to achieve its Artsmark status - a quality standard awarded by Arts Council England.
