Welcome to St Catherine's, Bramley. Founded as both a boarding and day school for girls in 1885, we believe that the successful blending of these two aspects of school life into one happily integrated community is part of what makes St Catherine's. Everyone, boarder or day girl, feels part of the whole. Boarding fosters a strong respect and care for others and gives girls the confidence to develop their independence and their own sense of style.

Academic results place us comfortably in the top 5 girls' independent boarding schools in the country. The curriculum is designed to ensure it has breadth and variety. Our very impressive Destinations of Leavers' data is testament to the excellent outcomes at A Level, enabling our Sixth Formers to go to their chosen universities, in the UK and worldwide, and feel well prepared to take on new challenges.

Our location is perfect for families based both in the UK and overseas. Bramley village is set in the heart of attractive Surrey countryside with acres of opportunity for outside activities. Being under an hour from Heathrow and Gatwick means no long journeys at the start and end of terms. Regular trains to London from nearby Guildford, make a day in the capital city very easy to organise. On Fridays/Sundays a return bus service into SW London runs for weekly boarders.

St Catherine's weekend boarding programme has been singled out on a number of occasions for particular praise; from cultural excursions to theatres, museums and galleries to theme parks, the seaside, Christmas Markets and culturally interesting cities: Bath, Winchester, Windsor, Portsmouth etc. London's cultural and entertainment attractions are just an hour away, whilst the historic county town of Guildford is on our doorstep which offers theatres, a multiplex cinema and shopping opportunities.

The Anniversary Halls sports and performing arts complex houses a multi-function sports hall and professional dance studio as well as a superb auditorium for concerts and theatrical productions. Musicians benefit from the auditorium's impressive acoustics and full orchestra pit. Numerous choirs, Wind Band, String Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Brass Ensemble represent some of the musical groups girls can enjoy. Music, Sport, Dance, Drama, Art, Chess, Debating, Sailing, Equestrianism, Young Enterprise, community projects, Charity fund-raising and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme feature in a long list of extra-curricular activities. Girls can master skills in stage design, lighting and sound under the guidance of our Technical Director. They enjoy learning ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance in St Catherine's own professional dance school. Sport for all and Sport to national team standard are possible and girls are encouraged to commit and enjoy some 15 sports at their own level.
