Founded as both a boarding and day school for girls in 1885, we believe that the successful blending of these two aspects of school life into one happily integrated community is part of what makes St Catherine's. Everyone, boarder or day girl, feels part of the whole. Boarding fosters a strong respect and care for others and gives girls the confidence to develop their independence and their own sense of style.

Academic results place us comfortably within the most prestigious girls' independent boarding schools in the UK. The curriculum is designed to ensure it has breadth and variety. Our very impressive Destinations of Leavers' data is testament to the excellent outcomes at A Level, enabling our Sixth Formers to go to their chosen universities, in the UK and worldwide, and feel well prepared to take on new challenges.

Bramley village is set in the heart of attractive Surrey countryside with acres of opportunity for outside activities. Being under an hour from Heathrow and Gatwick means no long journeys at the start and end of terms. Regular trains to London from nearby Guildford, make a day in the capital city very easy to organise. On Fridays/Sundays a return bus service into SW London runs for weekly boarders.

St Catherine's weekend boarding programme is carefully thought-out and has been singled out on a number of occasions for particular praise; from cultural excursions to theatres, museums and galleries to theme parks, the seaside, Christmas Markets and culturally interesting cities: Bath, Winchester, Windsor, Portsmouth etc. London's cultural and entertainment attractions are just an hour away, whilst the historic county town of Guildford is on our doorstep which offers theatres, a multiplex cinema and shopping opportunities.

The Anniversary Halls sports and performing arts complex houses a multi-function sports hall and professional dance studio as well as a superb auditorium for concerts and theatrical productions. Girls can choose from around 15 different sports which they can commit to and enjoy at their own level. Numerous choirs, Wind Band, String Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Brass Ensemble represent some of the musical groups girls enjoy. Musicians benefit from superb acoustics and a full orchestra pit. Girls can master skills in stage design, lighting and sound under the guidance of our Technical Director. They enjoy learning ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance in St Catherine's own professional dance school. Art, Chess, Debating, Sailing, Equestrianism, Young Enterprise, community projects, Charity fund-raising and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme feature in a long list of extra-curricular activities.

St Catherine's is unequivocally for girls. It is a school where girls grow and develop at their own pace, not one dictated by others. The advantages of girls' schools are legion - not only do girls achieve better examination results, they also have more opportunities for leadership. Girls do particularly well in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and are more likely to continue these subjects at A level and into university. We educate girls to see themselves as future leaders in society, movers and shakers, politicians, thinkers, creators and industrialists. The St Catherine's Association, comprising thousands of alumnae, parents, and friends of the School gives the girls access to invaluable careers' advice, global networks and opportunities for work experience/internships and sponsorships.

St Catherine's offers an unforgettable education for every girl. A warm welcome awaits you.
