St John’s Beaumont is a Roman Catholic preparatory boarding and day school for boys aged 3-13 years. Set in a rural location, adjacent to Windsor Great Park, St John’s was founded in 1888 and is the oldest purpose-built preparatory school in the country. We combine the rich traditions of Jesuit education with the very best that modern teaching techniques and technology can offer.
The school is set within 70 acres of established woodland, playing fields and enjoys excellent sporting facilities. There is plenty of space for cross-country, rugby, football, cricket and more. A 25m indoor swimming pool, a rowing suite and a climbing wall are also highlights of our facilities. Of equal importance to Sport is Music, Drama and the Arts, with the majority of boys learning an instrument and outstanding LAMDA results as well as a much-acclaimed annual drama production in the outdoor theatre.
We pursue excellence in teaching and learning through the development and care of the whole child. At our core is the principle of cura personalis – care for each person, so that boys may flourish academically, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually.
Our boys leave St John’s aged 13 and move to some of the country’s finest schools, but more importantly do so as confident, aspirational and resilient young men, aware of their own potential and their ability to leave a positive impression on the lives of others.
Our vibrant boarding community, comprising of tailored (2 or 3 nights/week), weekly and full boarders, enjoys a full evening & weekend program. The boys are making the most of the school's facilities as well as the proximity to Windsor and London for regular trips. Special activities for the boarders include a Diving (PADI) course, polo lessons and trips to Thorpe Park.
