St Mary's School, Hampstead provides an outstanding and inspirational education to girls from 2 years 6 months – 11 years.

St Mary's School celebrates the uniqueness of every pupil and their achievements. The rigorous, challenging curriculum places a strong emphasis on high academic achievement within a culture of care and support. Our rating in the Top 5 UK Prep Schools (Catholic Good Schools Guide 2024) is testament to this.

The school aims to instil four key habits of learning in their pupils. The children are encouraged to be risk-takers, not only in their play, but also in their learning. They are also taught to be resilient and not to give up at the first hurdle. The girls at St Mary's School are respectful, not just of each other, but of themselves. Finally, pupils are encouraged to be reflective on their faith, behaviour and academic work.

The school's innovative approach to education, maintaining an ethos routed in tradition, is special. With five floors of dynamic learning spaces, St. Mary's is also home to its Global Learning Centre. The space was designed to celebrate and champion STEAM subjects in girls' education, with a pioneering Engineering & Robotics Lab, 3D printers, and a virtual reality room. All pupils have access to an iPad or Chromebook to complement their learning.

The focus on technology is equally balanced with an emphasis on creative and physical development. Music, drama, art and sports are an essential part of school life and involve everyone. The unique and extensive outdoor area allows girls the space to breathe and consists of climbing equipment and a full-size netball court. St. Mary's received the 'Highly Commended' prize for Outstanding School Sport at the ISA Awards 2024.

Leavers achieve impressive results, gaining offers and Academic Scholarships from the best schools in the country, including Channing School, City of London School for Girls, Francis Holland School, Highgate School, North London Collegiate, South Hampstead High School, St Mary's Ascot and St Paul's Girls' School.
