The Study Preparatory School, Wimbledon, is a successful all girls prep school based on two picturesque sites, adjacent to Wimbledon Common, and in the heart of Wimbledon Village. Established in 1893, it is proudly non-selective and is renowned for its nurturing, creative ethos as well as its excellent 11+ results. Girls join the school at Reception through ballot entry when they are 4+, and leave at 11+ to go onto top Day and Boarding Schools. Day schools include Wimbledon, Putney and Surbiton High Schools, St Paul's Girls' School, The Lady Eleanor Holles, Epsom College, Francis Holland, Marymount, Notre Dame and St John's Leatherhead. Boarding schools include Benenden, Downe House, St Mary's Ascot and Wycombe Abbey.

The Study Prep has achieved an outstanding record of scholarships and offers from leading senior schools over the years, which has been surpassed this year, with a total of 40 scholarships offered to the 2020 Year 6 cohort. This brings the total of scholarship offers over the last three years to an impressive 104, across academic, drama, music, art and sport.

Although academic rigour is at the heart of the school, The Study Prep is highly creative, with a reputation for excellence in music and the performing and visual arts, and has had Artsmark Gold status from Arts Council England since 2009. Girls may do the LAMDA drama programme with specialist teachers, and music lessons are offered by the school's fifteen peripatetic music teachers in a vast array of instruments. The school offers weekly class music lessons from Reception and has a number of vibrant choirs, music ensembles and orchestras. Girls learn French from Reception, taught by specialist language teachers, and they also do a taster in Spanish at the beginning of Year 6. The dynamic PE department ensures success at both regional and national level across netball, athletics, hockey, and cross country and the School has a spacious off-site sports ground with multi-use pitches for training and matches. The Study Prep has been ISA National Netball champions in recent years.

New Head, Miss Vicky Ellis, will continue with the School’s mission to enable each individual to fulfil her potential in a supportive, kind and happy environment when she joins in September 2020. The girls enjoy a rich diversity of experiences, in and out of the classroom, and an understanding of important issues beyond the school gates. Every year group experience outings, school trips and workshops, and the older girls enjoy residential trips also.

Miss Ellis describes The Study Prep as having, "The family feel of a village school and the results and facilities of a leading London prep." Facilities have been enhanced at both sites over recent years, and 2020 will see the completion of an ambitious development which will add a new library, six new classrooms, and a performing arts space to the School. The school provides regular tours with the Head, and also holds an annual Open Morning in March.
