Woldingham is one of the UK's leading boarding and day schools for girls aged 11-18. Set within 700 acres of the most beautiful Surrey countryside, Woldingham provides an inspiring and safe place for students to become confident, compassionate and courageous young women ready to take their place in the world.

Not only is Woldingham's location inspiring, it's remarkably accessible for students from London, Surrey, Kent and West Sussex as well as students from overseas. With direct trains from Clapham Junction taking 25 minutes, Woldingham is a fantastic option for students from London who relish the school's fantastic space and amazing facilities. The school bus service covers a wide range of routes and the school is less than three miles from the M25.

Main House, the stunning 19th century mansion at the centre of the school, sits alongside purpose-built science labs, humanities and language hubs, studios for art, drama and music, and a professional standard 600-seat auditorium. Woldingham has gained a reputation for the outstanding quality of its drama productions over recent years. Students from Year 7 to Upper Sixth take part in plays, musical theatre and reviews, often working with the Music Department. Former students have stellar careers as professional actors and musicians.

Academic excellence goes hand in hand with learning beyond the classroom. Students achieve outstanding GCSE and A Level results to secure places at leading universities opening doors to exciting careers. Woldingham is in the top 10% of schools for added value. This means students thrive academically. Sitting alongside this is an exceptional co-curricular programme of sport, clubs, performing arts and outreach into the local community enabling students to develop a wonderful range of skills, expertise and interests.

Sport is very important at Woldingham, which has excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. The hockey and netball teams compete locally and regionally with first-class training from specialist coaches. The tennis dome means tennis can be played year round, as well as on outside courts in the summer. There is an indoor swimming pool, squash courts, fitness suite, dance studio and sports hall. Woldingham is particularly good at supporting students in specialist sports such as karate and alpine skiing.

Students benefit from a wide range of academic enrichment opportunities, from societies for debating, law and philosophy through to extra qualifications in areas such as mathematics, financial studies and sports leadership.

Scholarships are highly prized with scholarship programmes supporting students to excel in their areas of strength. As well as academic scholarships, there are scholarships for sport, drama, art, music and performing arts.

The beauty and peace of Woldingham in the Surrey Hills makes it the perfect place to board. Some girls board throughout their time at Woldingham and others move from being a day student to boarder as they go up the school. Flexi-boarding, which is available for up to two nights a week, is a great introduction to boarding.

Boarders live with their own year group in comfortable and well-equipped boarding houses, and there is a great sense of community. The fantastic and experienced team of housemistresses are available round the clock offering support, care and guidance, and really understand how to help new girls settle in quickly and make the most of school life.

Many full boarders stay at school at weekends taking part in a great programme of activities but our family-friendly approach means students can go home at weekends if they prefer.

As one of the UK's oldest girls' schools, Woldingham is proud to be a pioneer of women's education. Its single-sex environment is supportive and stimulating. It enables students to be themselves and to grow into independent women who will make a positive contribution to the world. Whether day or boarding, each student is known and supported as an individual to develop the resilience and self-worth that will remain with her for life.

Woldingham is a Sacred Heart Catholic school. It warmly welcomes students of all faiths or none.
