Musicians at ​King’s Ely celebrated the great German composer Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday in style – and raised funds for charity while doing so.

​Last weekend three brothers from Selborne, Hampshire completed a charity bike ride. Collectively they covered 90km, which was split equally between them and their dad, Richard. Ted, age 8, William, age 6, and Harry, age 4, who are all pupils at Highfield and Brookham Schools in Liphook, were inspired to raise money for The Prince’s Trust after a recent trip to Winchester.

Students and their families, former students and staff from St Swithun’s School, Winchester took part in their annual St Swithun’s Way Challenge, raising £18,000 for its Bramston Bursary Foundation fund for girls in, or on the brink of care.

Young cricketers at Burgess Hill Girls are taking on the Sussex Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds to ‘turn St Johns Park in Burgess Hill green’.

Every year children at Highfield and Brookham Schools support a charity. The children are given the opportunity to vote for the charity they want to support and last academic year The King’s Arms Charity, based in Petersfield, was their chosen cause.

A teacher at King’s Ely is using her pedal power to raise funds for a cause close to her heart.
