King’s House School is delighted to have raised a total of £7,321.50 during the Autumn Term 2021 for a range of local and national charities.

Skylarks, a local charity who support children with additional needs, is the charity pupils have chosen to support this year. Through embroidery of the Nursery smocks, cake sales, Year 7 Enterprise Fair and Christmas Jumper Day, the school has donated £4,044 to Skylarks this term. Several donations this term were also doubled during the Big Give campaign.

The Mufti Day in October 2021 raised £1,545 for Barnardo’s, a charity who protect, support and nurture the UK’s most vulnerable children. This year’s Poppy Appeal also raised £310 for the Royal British Legion.

Collections during the Christmas Concerts and Carol Service in December raised £1,422.50, which will be split between St Mary Magdalene Church, SPEAR and the Vineyard Community. SPEAR support people experiencing homelessness in South West London, building communities in which everyone has a place to call home. Vineyard Community are dedicated to helping vulnerable individuals in Richmond overcome personal crises.

Miss Gheorghe, Charities Co-ordinator, said: “2021 was a complex year, yet we were able to commit a lot of time and energy raising money for our charity of choice, Skylarks! I would like to thank the Year 7s who managed to step in and help out with our Poppy Appeal when the charity monitors were busy with exams. The Year 8 charity monitors have helped greatly with the organisation and delivery of a few big events: the enterprise fair, the second-hand book sale and the Christmas Carol concert. I am looking forward to the Spring Term events, and have already received a number of suggestions for future events and I am always open to new and exciting ideas.”

Many thanks to everyone in the King’s House community who help the school to support charities both locally and nationally.
