Our Lady's Abingdon School offers exam-free entry for COVID-hit county

Posted on 17th Nov 2020 in School News

OLA has announced that the school is cancelling its entrance examination for 2021 pupil intake, to support COVID-19 affected families across the county.

COVID-19 has caused an extended period of lockdown and school closures during 2020. During this period many pupils have missed a significant amount of schooling.

In these unprecedented circumstances OLA has taken the decision to adapt its admissions approach to ensure that no child is at a disadvantage in applying to the school due to loss of education time.

For 2021 entry to OLA Senior School there will therefore be no written entrance examination. Assessment will instead be based on an online admissions interview, school report and school reference.

As previously planned, Academic Scholarship candidates will sit the Academic Scholarship examination and be interviewed at OLA, on Monday 4 January 2021. Appropriate COVID-19 safety measures will be in place.
