Highfield and Brookham Schools are celebrating yet another year of scholarship success. The 17 scholarships and awards achieved are to a diverse range of top senior schools including Wellington College, Cranleigh School, Radley College and Marlborough College. There was a huge variety of scholarships and awards ranging from academic and art to sports and music, 13 of them were awarded at 13+ and four at 11+.

Last year Highfield and Brookham Schools celebrated a record-breaking scholarship year with a total of 21 scholarships and awards. They were on track to break this record however, the majority of academic scholarship exams had to be cancelled due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

The scholarship programme, which has a fantastic record of success, is one of the reasons parents choose Highfield and Brookham Schools for their children. Every child receives individual attention and a dedicated Scholarship Programme seeks to get the very best from each individual. Each Head of Department runs their own programme of support dedicated to help children reach their potential in their specialist subject. Scholarships help children recognise their extraordinary potential and enable them to understand that by working hard and setting high standards for themselves, they can not only reach but exceed their own expectations.

Phillip Evitt, Headmaster at Highfield School says, “All those sitting scholarships embark upon a journey, which at times is challenging, stressful or full of joy and occasionally all at the same time. These children are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible for their age. The 91 scholarships awarded to our pupils over the past six years reflect the breadth and range of our pupils’ strengths and provide a strong endorsement of the quality of teaching and learning at Highfield and Brookham Schools.”
