Stroud School celebrates the Royal Coronation

To mark the beginning of our new King's reign, the whole Stroud School community joined together to celebrate his ascension to the throne! Families and friends of the Romsey based school gathered for a special Coronation picnic to mark the Coronation of King Charles III.

After a whole school assembly, honouring the occasion, children with their teachers, classmates and families celebrated the historical event on their front lawn, under a cover of colourful bunting adorning the buildings.

And as the nation celebrated, Stroud children were reminded that the purpose of the monarchy is not merely to serve the interests of the Crown but to serve the people of our nation. Service to others is a value that is instilled in its pupils at Stroud every day, through its ‘Three Rules’ that encourage the children to be Aware, Ready and Kind. Stroud School wants its children to use their talents and abilities to make a positive impact on the world around them. Whether it is through volunteering, charitable work, or simply showing kindness and respect to others; their children are taught to embrace the value of service to others.

It’s senior school, King Edward VI School Southampton, has held its Royal Charter since 1553, so all pupils at Stroud and KES also signed Coronation Memorial books to mark this important moment in history.
