Year 8 children at Barrow Hills School were jubilant this week following a 100% pass rate in the Common Entrance (CE) exam. Children and teachers alike were delighted with the impressive across the board success that ALL children have passed the demanding exam required for admission to an independent senior school.

The Year 8 children have been awarded a total of 13 scholarships this year. They will be moving on to join a wide variety of schools including: Charterhouse, Churchers College, Cranleigh, Frensham Heights, King Edward’s Witley, Lord Wandsworth College, St Catherine’s Bramley, Seaford College, Worth and the International School of Helsinki.

To celebrate the children’s success, the catering team at Barrow Hills created a special lunch and a congratulatory cake – which was enjoyed by all!

Commenting on the impressive results, Headmaster Sean Skehan said, ‘We are once again extremely proud of our children, who have all worked so hard and are entirely deserving of these excellent results which have gained them all entrance to their first choice of senior schools. Whilst we will of course be sad to see them leave Barrow Hills, we are certain that they will continue to achieve great things in their new schools and we wish them every happiness as they embark upon the next important stage of their lives.’
