John Catt's Preparatory Schools 2020 – available in print and view online here

We are pleased to announce the publication of John Catt's Preparatory Schools 2020, a guide to more than 1,500 prep and junior schools in the UK providing education for 2–13-year-olds.

The 23rd edition of this guidebook features profiles of more than 50 leading schools, as well as directory information on all schools with a prep department. 

All this information is replicated in the pages of this website, where you can search for all independent schools by region, county, postcode and for day or boarding schools and single-sex schools.

There is also a vibrant editorial section featuring articles on a range of topics centred on preparatory education, including boarding, curriculum, wellbeing, all-through education, thinking skills and outdoor learning. We will be placing these articles online over the coming weeks.

The guidebook is available through all online channels, and can be ordered  direct from us or from any bookshops supplied by our distributor, Macmillan Distribution.
