Christmas sparkle at Stroud School

Stroud School in Romsey has managed to keep the Christmas Spirit alive by live streaming both the Early Years and Key Stage 1 Nativities to families.

During the pandemic, Stroud School, like so many others, has had to cut back on many of the Christmas festivities; however the Christmas Nativity was an absolute must. The children had been rehearsing very hard for their Christmas performance, and whilst they were very disappointed not to be able to perform to their families, were very excited to act in front of the cameras.

The Early Years children gave a wonderful performance entitled ‘A little bird told me’, whilst Key Stage 1 opted for telling the traditional story. An external company, schoolvideo.co.uk, filmed the two events, which will also be available on DVDs for families to buy to give to grandparents and other family members for Christmas.

Mrs Fay, Director of Music at Stroud says, “We thoroughly enjoyed live-streaming these nativities. A lot of hard work, planning and rehearsals went into these productions and we are so pleased that parents did not need to miss out after all. The feedback has told us that viewers were thrilled watching the children perform.”

Stroud School has also celebrated the festive season by decorating Christmas trees, hanging wreaths and enjoying Christmas parties in a Covid- safe way. A festive end to a busy and fun-filled Autumn Term!
