SME News Magazine has crowned Cranleigh the Best Independent School 2019 – South East England in the 2019 UK Enterprise Awards.

“Congratulations to Cranleigh for your success in this year’s UK Enterprise Awards. In an education market where boarding is almost entirely a thing of the past, you are offering an experience of such excellence that boarding is thriving and pupils are receiving the quality, personal care and attention they need to flourish and make the best out of their lives in today’s fast-paced world. Thank you for you all your hard work and long may your success continue,” said Awards spokesperson, Jessie Wilson.

From its base in the heart of the Surrey countryside, Cranleigh School provides award-winning boarding and day education to pupils aged 13 to 18 years old. True to its founding ethos, and its motto (Ex Cultu Robur), Cranleigh’s aim remains to teach the child ‘in the whole’. The boarding structure provides a wealth of opportunities, and a culture whereby each individual child is valued and will flourish; where each child has the time, and support, to discover their own talents and passions, whatever they may be.

Cranleigh School’s profile has risen dramatically in recent years. Over the last year the School has enjoyed the most successful results in its 150-year history, both academically and across an impressive range of sports, arts and cultural activities. The 2018 GCSE results put Cranleigh at the top of the independently assessed CEM league table for the independent school that provided pupils with the most value-added in the country. Across all subjects an average of 0.62 added on to predicted exam grades, a direct result of the time and care invested by academic staff.

“A lot is due to change since the previous edition of our Award. We are now coming to the Brexit deadline which could change the way the UK does business forever. In what may appear to be a time of uncertainty, one thing remains a standard in the UK. Strong, vibrant and diverse organisations that year upon year develop and grow their products and services,” added Jessie Wilson.

SME News awards are given solely on merit and are awarded to commend those most deserving for their ingenuity and hard work, distinguishing them from their competitors and proving them worthy of recognition.
