Lower Sixth Cranleigh School student Yousef Majid made his senior Surrey debut earlier this week in their game against Sussex 2nd XI.

The slow left arm spinner was drafted in for the final two days of their Championship game which ended in a draw.

Following a solitary over on day 3, Yousef got into his work on day 4 bowling 17 overs unchanged up the hill to finish with figures of 3-45 which included the wicket of current England international Joffra Archer.

Following this performance Cranleigh Director of Cricket Stuart Welch is hopeful that this will just be the start; “Yousef has good control and he has developed the technical side of his game over the winter. It is pleasing to see him being rewarded for the hard work he has put into his game. With time on his side, hopefully, it is the first of many wickets for Surrey CCC.”
