Third Form pupil Harry has been awarded Dauntsey’s Third Form Project Prize this year. The winner was announced by Head Master Mark Lascelles at the School’s Final Assembly and will receive an iWatch as his prize.

The theme for this year’s prize was ‘Loyalty’, which inspired a record number of pupils to respond with an astonishing level of dedication and imagination. The judges considered a wide variety of projects exploring everything from loyalty in sport and farming, through to loyalty in families and teams, to the unquestioning loyalty of pets and service animals. Several pupils interviewed friends and family to further understand the theme, resulting in very emotive and thoughtful responses.

Mark Lascelles, Head Master, Dauntsey’s, and one of the Prize’s judges said;

‘The quality and breadth of the entries to this year’s Third Form Project prize were outstanding. Special mention must go to three dogs submitted as entries; Molly’s golden Hachikō; Lottie’s delicate wire sculpture, complete with heart and collar; and, the winning entry, Harry’s welded memorial to his first pet. Each was supported by a story, process board and time lapse film respectively.

‘The time and energy that these pupils, and many of the others who participated in the competition, put into this work is extraordinary.’
