A group of 16 Fourth Form girls from Dauntsey’s had the exciting opportunity to visit the STEM Careers Showcase at The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. This was a joint venture between the Army and industry to showcase the breadth of educational and career pathways into STEM careers for aspiring female students.

Some 500 girls between the ages of 11 to 15 attended the event from schools across the public and private sectors. The programme included inspiring presentations by leading women from the STEM industry, interactive STEM activities and presentations about STEM Higher Education Providers, Apprentice Schemes and Supported Education Schemes.

Lucy, one of the pupils from Dauntsey's who attended the event, said:

‘The Showcase was a fantastic opportunity to see STEM in action in industry and the Armed Forces and it really opened my eyes to the opportunities open to me when I leave School. It was particularly good to hear from women who have built a successful career in STEM; listening to them was really inspiring.’
