Departing Year 13 and Year 14 students at DLD College London have attended their annual Graduation Ceremony, a prestigious event held at the iconic Houses of Parliament.

Donning their formal caps and gowns, the students processed across Westminster Bridge to the ceremony (complete with police escort) where they were congratulated and awarded for their exceptional achievements.

Friends and family joined the graduates at the renowned landmark to celebrate their educational journey with the award-winning independent school. The ambitious and inspiring young leaders were presented with their awards by hosts, Valerie Vaz MP and The Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP.

Following the ceremony, students and guests returned to the Westminster Bridge-based school for the End of Year Art Exhibition. A plethora of high-quality work was showcased, displaying the talent and creativity nurtured at the school.

DLD College London Principal, Irfan Latif commented, “We are the first school in the UK (and I think in the world) to have graduated from the Palace of Westminster - we therefore continue to create history and hope that this strong relationship with our neighbour continues into the future.

“Our students were part of something very special which I hope they will cherish with their family and friends for years to come. They are pioneers and trailblazers who will leave behind a strong and compelling legacy for future DLD students. As alumni of DLD, I hope that they will use the skills and knowledge acquired at College, as well as the values learnt, to make the world a better place. The alumni badge which has been designed by the students themselves, is testimony to that entrepreneurial spirit and I would hope that they keep in touch with the College.”

DLD College London is a 14-19 independent boarding school housed in highly contemporary, purpose-built premises in the heart of London, on 199 Westminster Bridge Road, overlooking the Palace of Westminster and the River Thames.

The school offers students the chance to study a wide range and flexible combinations of GCSEs, A-Levels, BTEC courses and International Foundation Programmes (IFP).
