Following National Success earlier this year, Felsted School’s Tennis Players travelled to Miami for ten days of tennis in a challenging new climate. Meanwhile Felsted’s Rugby players prepared for their upcoming season with a tour to South Africa.

Whilst in Miami the tennis players had the opportunity to play against a number of local schools in humid conditions on clay and hard courts, which really helped refine their skills. They also had time built into their tour for other activities such as canoeing, paddle-boarding, sailing, swimming and watching a baseball game.

Meanwhile, Felsted’s Rugby boys travelled to South Africa, playing against local schools and having the opportunity to bond as a team both on and off the pitch through a wide variety of activities including surfing, paintballing and swimming. They also had the incredible opportunity to go on four different game drives to see wild animals up close, as well as visiting Robben Island and entering Nelson Mandela’s cell.

Felsted 1st team player Max Tomlinson comments; “Being given a tour of the prison by a political prisoner was inspirational. Throughout the tour we played some outstanding rugby against some high-quality opposition who tested our defence due to their speed of attack as well as their determination to score. This season has also started well, with a win in the first round of both the National Cup and the Essex County Cup.”
