Friendships and Fun at Cobnor
Posted on 13th Oct 2025 in School News
King's School Rochester Year 7 cohort set off on their first big adventure together - a residential trip to Cobnor Activity Centre in Chichester Harbour, West Sussex. For many, this was not only their first residential as King’s School Rochester pupils, but also an important opportunity to form new friendships and settle into life within our school community.
The week was packed with activities designed to challenge, inspire and entertain. Pupils took to the water for sailing and paddling, tested their balance and bravery on the high ropes, navigated orienteering courses and threw themselves into lively games of aeroball, among many other exciting experiences.
While the activities provided plenty of thrills, the true purpose of the trip went beyond adventure. Cobnor gave our pupils the chance to develop confidence, practise independence, and most importantly, build relationships with one another. Team-building tasks encouraged cooperation, communication and trust - all vital skills as they embark on their journey through school.
The enthusiasm, resilience and kindness shown throughout the week made this residential a memorable start to Year 7. We are proud of the way our pupils embraced every challenge and supported each other, and we look forward to seeing these new bonds grow stronger as the year continues.
