Gardener Schools Group celebrate World Book Day

Posted on 7th Mar 2023 in School News, Literature

Kew Green Preparatory School and Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School, both part of the Gardener Schools Group, celebrated World Book Day with pupils dressing as characters from their favourite books.

Both schools saw a variety of costumes such as wizards from Harry Potter, fairies from Peter Pan, and even a 7ft inflatable shark.

At KGPS, activities were set throughout the day making good use of nearby Kew Green, as well as ending the day with a book sale too.

RPPS were delighted to host two award-winning authors, Louie Stowell and Ken Wilson-Max. They gave fascinating talks and workshops to our pupils such as discussing their step-by-step guides on how they build characters for their books. This was followed by our pupils putting pen to paper and devising their own characters and scenarios to share.

Our teachers loved getting involved too, with children having lessons taught by Batman, Dumbo the Elephant, Cruella De Vil and more.

“Authors, if RPPS invites you, go go go! Jenny the Librarian is a dream to work with! What a brilliant World Book Day! Amazingly creative kids and what a library!” - Louie Stowell

Our prep schools are already looking forward to World Book Day 2024.
