The traditional Head of School handover was the highlight of the Brentwood School assembly. Outgoing Head of School Victor Sarpong welcomed Evie McKnight to the stage, presenting her with a bouquet of flowers and the iconic blue gown.

In his final year of overseeing the selection process, Headmaster Ian Davies was keen to congratulate Evie, and wished her the very best of luck for the new school year under the leadership of Headmaster Designate Michael Bond.

The Headmaster was also quick to thank Victor and his team for the pivotal role they have played within the School community, and wished them every success in their future endeavours.

With every ending comes a new beginning, and Mr Davies was delighted to welcome his final selection of Deputies who support the student body within each year group.

Congratulations were made to Ellen Fasham (First Year), Will Steinberg (Second Year), Ella Hawes (Third Year), Shiv Patel (Fourth Year), Harriet Ellis (Fifth Year) and Max Tomlinson (Lower Sixth).

In her first speech as Head of School, Evie paid tribute to the Headmaster for the incredible work he has done across his 15-year reign, and thanked him for entrusting her to help lead the School into a new era. Her eloquent speech also included thanks to the departing Praes and Deputies for their tireless work, and a special mention to Victor, whose kind and approachable manner as Head of School were qualities she truly admired and aspired to live up to.

On a final note, the new Head of School wished all staff and students a pleasant and peaceful summer holiday, and encouraged all to look towards the new Academic Year with aspiration and determination.
