Hen egg incubator in Leehurst Swan Reception class

Posted on 30th Apr 2018 in School News, Science

The Leehurst Swan Reception children are very excited about their incubated hens' eggs, which will hatch in about 15 days’ time in their classroom!

The children will see the chicks growing inside the eggs by shining a torch behind them. They will carefully monitor the temperature and humidity of the air inside the incubator and check that the eggs are being turned regularly, just like the mother hen would do.

They are also looking after – and studying the development of – some tadpoles. It's a busy time!
