On Thursday 19th September it was certainly a pirate’s life for the children and staff at Northbourne Park School Pre-Prep as all the children and staff from Nursery to Year 2 celebrated ‘International Talk Like A Pirate Day’ in style.

The children enjoyed their pirate themed day by coming to school dressed as pirates, taking part in themed activities throughout the day such as making treasure maps, finding treasure and painting pictures of their favourite pirate. It was all hands on deck at break time as Captain ‘Jack’ Smith aka Richard Smith, Reception Teacher, led the crew and children to their very own pirate ship, ready to sale the high seas. Yo ho, Yo ho ... Drink up me 'earties, yo ho!

The children looked wonderful in their costumes and really played the part!

Gillian Rees Head of Pre-Prep said “We look forward to this event at the start of every school year. The children, and teachers love to dress up and play a part for the day”.
