Ipswich School has once again been recognised as the No.1 independent school in Suffolk and North Essex, retaining this position for the tenth consecutive year. The prestigious ranking appears in The Sunday Times Parent Guide 2026, which also lists Ipswich School among the top 10 independent schools in East Anglia.
This achievement reflects the school’s long-standing commitment to academic excellence, outstanding pastoral care, and a rich co-curricular programme that nurtures every pupil’s potential.
Head Nick Gregory said, “We are very proud indeed of this overall achievement, underpinned as it is by the individual stories of talent, hard work and tenacity of the 139 Ipswich School pupils who sat A Levels here in Summer 2025 and the 139 who undertook GCSEs. And the fact that it is the tenth consecutive year that Ipswich School has been ranked as the leading independent school in the area speaks volumes for the consistent and continued excellence of our Teaching Staff across 20+ subject areas.”
Ipswich School continues to build on its strong reputation for providing a well-rounded education that equips young people for success, both academically and personally, ensuring that each pupil thrives in a dynamic and evolving world, creating extraordinary futures.
