On Thursday 13th September King’s Rochester Preparatory School celebrated Roald Dahl Day.

The school was filled with Twits, Gloops, Giants, Foxes, Matildas, Crocodiles and Roly Poly Birds as the pupils all dressed as their favourite characters. Not missing out on the fun was their teachers, including new headmaster Mr Morgan, who donned his finest tweed as Bean from Fantastic Mr Fox, and deputy headmaster Mr Medhurst, who greeted parents and pupils in full character as the Grand High Witch from The Witches.

Mrs Jeannie Nicoll, head of English at King’s Preparatory School, said: ‘Well done to all pupils and staff who participated in the marvellously magical Roald Dahl Day! It was fantastic to see just how popular this author still is today and the impact he has on our creative writing. We have all had a wonderful day. As Willy Wonka says, “a little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men.”’
