Congratulations to Leehurst Swan student Amelia Hayes who came second, and reserve champion, at the Horse of the Year Show 2018.

Amelia and her pony (Wilderness Early Bird) competed in the Equissage Pulse Ridden Partbred Pony of the Year final at the Horse of the Year Show held at the NEC.

Amelia won the first qualifying class in the country back in June at the Midland Counties Show and was one of 21 qualifying children and adults at the final last week.

Amelia came an amazing second and reserve champion, with the winner being a professional adult. Amelia and Birdie, as they call the pony at home, were also third at Royal International in July this year.

Amelia has said she has had a 'fantastic' year and is 'looking forward to new challenges in 2019 with a new novice pony'.  She wishes to thank Little Wishford Equestrian for their training and support throughout the season.

Headmaster of Leehurst Swan, Mr Morgan-Nash, remarked that: 'We are all extremely proud of Amelia and this is a fabulous achievement!'
