Outstanding GCSE Results for Ipswich School Pupils

The school is celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE achievements, with well over 60% of all grades awarded at 7, 8 or 9 (previously A*/A).

More than 40% of all grades were awarded at grades 8 or 9 (formerly A*), while no fewer than thirteen pupils achieved a remarkable ‘clean sweep’ of these very top grades across every one of their ten GCSE subjects.

Head, Nick Gregory, commented:

“I want to off er my congratulations to Ipswich School pupils and teachers alike for this outstanding set of GCSE results. What has most caught my eye today is the sheer breadth and consistency of high level achievement reflected here, with over half of the Year 11 cohort (65 of the 122 pupils in total) securing grades 7, 8 or 9 (previously A*/A) in at least seven of their subjects. I hope that we will have a great many very proud Ipswich School families today, excited about what their children might go on to achieve in the years ahead.”

Andrew Bradshaw, Head of Middle School, added:

“I add my hugest congratulations to this year’s Ipswich School Year 11. This cohort, many of whom have been together since the Prep School, has secured academic successes to accompany their exceptional contributions to the co-curricular side of school life, including Sport, Music, Drama and CCF. Over five busy and fulfilling years in the Senior School, they have given back so much too by way of their positivity and optimism, their wonderful manners and courtesy, and their energy and enthusiasm.”

For the 122 pupils receiving their results, today brings their GCSE years to a close and opens the door to the next stage of their education. The vast majority of the year group will now prepare to take the next step into Ipswich School Sixth Form in September.
