From September 2026, families at Pocklington Prep School will benefit from free after school care, as part of its continued commitment to supporting families and helping school life work better for busy parents.
Families at Pocklington School will benefit from free after school care for Prep School pupils from September 2026, as part of its continued commitment to supporting families and helping school life work better for busy parents.
The new provision will allow children from Reception to Year 6 to remain in school until 5.50pm each day at no additional cost. The after school care offer will also continue during exeat weekends.
To support the expansion, the School is increasing its after school provision from two rooms to three, with dedicated spaces for Pre-Prep pupils, Years 3 and 4, and Years 5 and 6. The sessions will continue to be led by trusted members of staff well known to the children.
Head of Pocklington Prep School, Suzy Ward, said:
“We understand the pressures many families are facing and the importance of reliable, high quality wraparound care for working parents.
As a school, we are always looking at ways we can better support our families and make school life work well for them. We are therefore delighted to be able to introduce free after school care from September.
The wellbeing and happiness of our children remains at the centre of everything we do, and we are proud to be able to offer a provision that is both practical for parents and nurturing for our pupils.”
The School will also continue to offer a wide range of after school clubs, including both free and paid activities. From September, families can expect an expanded sports club programme, including a new boys’ football club for older pupils, alongside the introduction of Royal Academy of Dance ballet classes.
