Pocklington School Pupils Champion the Greene King Tub Campaign

Posted on 18th Mar 2026 in School News

Pocklington School is celebrating the fantastic efforts of its pupils, who have collectively gathered 1,422 tubs in support of the Greene King Tub Campaign. This impressive achievement reflects the generosity, teamwork and strong community spirit at the heart of the School.

Thanks to the enthusiasm of pupils, alongside the support of families, staff and local people, tubs were collected in large numbers, with children eager to play their part in a campaign that makes a real difference. The School has praised their commitment and sense of responsibility in contributing to a shared community goal.

All tubs will be taken to a plastic reprocessing centre, where they will be shredded before being sold on to manufacturers to use in place of virgin plastics. This helps to reduce waste and supports more sustainable manufacturing. Importantly, all money raised from the sale of the recycled plastic will be given directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping to fund vital care and support for people affected by cancer.

The School has also expressed its thanks to everyone who contributed, including local businesses, organisations and schools that acted as collection points. Their kindness and commitment have helped turn a simple idea into an inspiring success, demonstrating the positive impact a community can have when it comes together for a shared cause.

Families interested in learning more about the opportunities and community life at Pocklington School are warmly invited to attend the next Open Morning on Thursday 12 March 2026.
