Over one hundred senior citizens from Burgess Hill were treated to Christmas tea, musical performances, and games by Year 11 students at Burgess Hill Girls.

The students always look forward to this event and are delighted to host their guests as well as entertain them with a variety of musical performances and games.

In addition to musical and drama performances the students sang songs including ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas,’ ‘She’s the Brightest Star’ from Nativity!, and ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas.’ There was also a raffle with prizes handed out by Head Lars Fox, crosswords to complete, and a quiz organised by the students.

All the guests had a lovely time. Barbara Weatherstone said: “What a beautiful event, so professionally organised. Everyone is so friendly, and the girls are amazing. A great afternoon!”

Vic Hatherly added: “It was the best event yet; everyone has done a great job.”

Nikki Donson, Assistant Head, Pastoral and Boarding at Burgess Hill Girls, said: “Our annual Senior Citizens Christmas party is an important part of our service to the local community. The students love meeting and entertaining our guests during a period of the year which, for some, can be quite a challenging time.”
