The pupils of the Environmental Club had an amazing surprise last week when a special letter from Sir David Attenborough arrived. Last term the pupils wrote letters to Sir David after learning all about his life and the important causes he advocates for, to tell him about all of the amazing things St. Andrew's School do to help our environment including growing our own vegetables for the school kitchen, extensive recycling, our Walking Bus initiative , Forest School lessons and our annual Earth Day celebrations which this year focused on saving our oceans.
Sir David was very happy to receive the children’s letters and thanked them for their support in keeping our planet safe.
Miss Deller, Environmental Club Leader at St. Andrew’s School said “It was such a proud moment for all of us to receive a letter from Sir David Attenborough. The pupils were absolutely overjoyed, and it meant so much to them to know that someone they admire so greatly had taken the time to respond. It’s a powerful reminder that even young voices can make a difference, and it has inspired them to continue their environmental work with even more passion and purpose”.
