The strength of teaching and learning at Spring Grove shines through the school's most recent (March 2026) Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) report, with the inspectors noting that 'Leaders have established a clear educational vision that supports pupils' academic progress and personal development across a broad and balanced curriculum.'

Since Spring Grove's previous inspection in 2023, when the Nursery and School were both rated 'excellent', the ISI Inspection framework has been updated and schools are no longer awarded graded judgements. Instead findings and supporting evidence are now given in five areas that cover leadership and management, quality of education, wellbeing, social and economic education, and safeguarding. Spring Grove School met the ISI standards in all five areas.

Throughout the report the inspectors highlighted Spring Grove's:

  • Highly effective leadership and governance
  • Clear educational vision that supports pupils' academic progress and personal development
  • Broad and balanced curriculum
  • Commitment to pupil wellbeing
  • Strong safeguarding culture
  • Thorough monitoring of pupils' attainment and progress
  • Opportunities for spiritual and cultural development
  • Clear policies and procedures to promote positive behaviour
  • Appropriate preparation for the next stage of pupils' education.

There was also high praise for the Early Years (Nursery and Reception) provision at Spring Grove: 'In the early years, a well-planned learning environment with appropriate resources enables children to explore, develop physical skills and engage positively with learning' and 'Well-established routines and consistent support from staff help children to settle and be confident in their learning environment.'

Overall, the inspection paints a clear picture of a happy, family school with high academic standards enhanced by a wide range of specialist teaching and extra-curricular learning. 'Leaders ensure that an effective balance is achieved between academic rigour and creativity.' It's confirmation that Spring Grove remains a 'great place to grow' for all of our children.
