St Leonards School is celebrating another successful year of GCSE results, with pupils achieving an impressive set of grades across a broad range of subjects.

More than 90% of entries were graded 9–4 (A*–C equivalent), with 44% of all grades reaching the top 9–7 (A*/A equivalent) boundary. Almost 30% of all results were awarded the highest 8/9 grades. Individual successes stood out across the cohort, with nine pupils securing more than six grades at 8/9, while seven achieved a clean sweep of straight 9–7 grades.

Departmental performance was equally strong, with 50% of pupils in both History and Art achieving grades 9–7, closely followed by strong performances in Mathematics, English, and Science.

Will Gaisford, Deputy Head (Academic), said:

“The achievement and progress of our GCSE pupils is to be celebrated. Whether a pupil scored a string of top grades or reached a personal target in a subject, each has been nurtured and encouraged by the support received from staff and the wider St Leonards community.”

The results build on another strong year of academic achievement at St Leonards, following equally impressive International Baccalaureate Diploma, Career-related Programme and BTEC results earlier this summer. Together, this year’s GCSE, BTEC and IB results demonstrate the academic strength of St Leonards across all stages, with pupils securing places at leading universities and institutions in the UK and internationally, and progressing with the confidence, ambition, and determination to succeed in their next steps.

This year’s GCSE results reflect the hard work, determination and ambition of pupils, alongside the commitment of teachers and the wider St Leonards community. The cohort now looks forward to the next stage of their education; with such strong foundations, this year's GCSE cohort is exceptionally well prepared to embrace the opportunities of the Sixth Form and beyond.
