On Tuesday 9th May, Sixth Formers at Burgess Hill Girls will host their fifth Tomorrow’s Women conference.

The Tomorrow’s Women conference is unique in that it is created and organised by Sixth Form students at Sussex independent school Burgess Hill Girls. They are involved in producing every aspect of the conference, from deciding on the format, to selecting speakers and hosting the event.

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Celebrating Women’s Success’ and it will take place at Burgess Hill Girls on Tuesday 9th May, between 6pm and 8pm. Free tickets are available for students across Sussex.

The speakers have been hand selected by the producer team to reflect the careers and industries that interest themselves and their fellow students. The programme includes West End Actor Evelyn Hoskins, BBC Radio Presenter Sarah Gorrell, Professor of Law Jeanette Ashton, and Biochemist Dr Lorraine Smith. All the speakers will share the ups and downs of their careers giving attendees invaluable tips on how to fulfil their ambitions.

Sixth Former Sophie Beels, said: “I was very honoured to be chosen as a part of this year's Tomorrow's Women conference team. It has been a great experience, working together, learning how to secure speakers and organise and market an event.”

Head of Sixth Form, Iain-Regan-Smith is delighted to see the conference in its fifth year. “The conference has gone from strength to strength as the teams build on the successes of previous conferences. The wonderful list of speakers, within such a diverse range of professions, mimics the variety of interests held by the students organising the conference and just goes to show what tomorrow’s women can achieve.”
