Situated in the attractive suburb of Timperley, Forest Preparatory School is an outstanding co-educational, independent day school for children aged two to eleven.

At Forest, staff provide a happy, stimulating and well-disciplined environment, and encourage each child to strive for excellence, and reach their full potential in all areas of school life.

Excellent pastoral care is built on knowledge of every child as an individual, and with an 'open door' policy strong links are formed with parents, allowing for excellent communication between home and school. In our most recent Early Years Inspection Report, inspectors noted that "nurturing and supportive staff have successfully created a homely and welcoming environment that contributes positively to children's achievements." This is something we feel very passionate about at Forest. In addition, our Wraparound Care enables children to be safely looked after in school from 7:30am until 5:55pm each day.

Our vision is embedded in putting pupil success at the heart of every decision. We believe in developing pupils' self-esteem so that they have the confidence to use their individual talents, skills and knowledge effectively and leave Forest equipped to be lifelong learners.

We value the partnership which exists between school, parents and community and the part it plays in realising this vision.

Though the school is not selective at infant level, Forest has great expectations, resulting in high aspirations from the children, and great achievements occurring both in and out of the classroom.

Parents at Forest Preparatory School are very fortunate with the extensive choice of highly respected secondary schools available in the area and we aim to help them choose the right school for their child.

Our curriculum goes beyond the demands of the National Curriculum; it is personally structured and, in the later years, there is a clear focus placed on the requirements of the Independent and State Grammar Schools entrance examinations at 11+. The curriculum remains broad and balanced with a continued emphasis on creativity, questioning, and independent thinking. A priority for Forest is to help guide and prepare our children for their future schools.

The Early Years Department comprises of the Nursery (2-3 year olds), Kindergarten (3-4 year olds) and Reception. Our Early Years department provides a stimulating, caring and vibrant environment where children aged 2-5 years of age learn important social skills and thrive on the planned learning opportunities, particularly in early reading, writing, mathematics, technology and creativity.

Children feel happy, secure and valued. They gain a wealth of learning experiences including Computing, PE, French and Music tuition from specialist teachers. There is also the opportunity for children to attend a range of after-school activities including Yoga, Spanish, Science, Art, Dance and Kiddy Cook.

Nursery children may start with their academic year group from the September after their second birthday and they may attend for any combination of mornings, afternoons or full days. Reception is a natural progression from Kindergarten, combining a warm, welcoming atmosphere with a bright, spacious and stimulating environment, which provides a wide variety of learning areas. The children are well-motivated learners, who continue to work within the seven areas of learning from the Foundation Stage curriculum, with an increased focus on the teaching of reading, writing and numeracy.

We believe that Forest is a great place to be and we would love to help your children learn. We hold a number of events for prospective parents throughout the year and our next Open Morning is Saturday 2nd March 2024 10.00am - 12.00pm.
